Wildlife Garden

The clients were a young professional couple, both of whom are keen gardeners.

 

The brief required a body of water to encourage wildlife (I specified a natural swimming pond), a garden that encouraged a range of wildlife (birds, pollinating insects, amphibians and aquatic invertebrates), a terrace to accommodate 6-8 people for dining and entertaining and a second more intimate space close to the water.

 

They wanted a planting scheme that included a wildflower meadow, a mown lawn area and specific emphasis on spring and autumn interest.
